1st Fundraising Braai Day 2020
We organized the 1st Fundraiser for the Life Journey Program for Persons with Disabilities at a Golf Club in Johannesburg. You can imagine that we were very excited that 70 guests from different companies like Evonik Industries, Siemens, Pioneer Hi-Bred, Roehm, CE Mobility, First National Bank and also the South African Department of Social Development and the German Embassy honored our Invitation. We had a very interesting program with short speeches, a raffle and auction and the handover of 3 specialized E-Wheelchairs with trailers donated by Siemens. Through this exciting event we were able to bring our work and vision with and for Persons with Disabilities much closer to the guests. We were able to raise some Funds for the Life Journey Program through donations from Companies, the Raffle and Auction of different Items such as a painting from a Zambian Artist, three original hand-signed Soccer Balls and Jerseys from the German Soccer Club BVB Dortmund and other items. We are looking forward to our Fundraising Braai 2021.
Evonik World Egg Day 2019
Once again this year (2019) we had the honor of celebrating World Egg Day with our own twist of making it a family fun day. Together with staff of Evonik Africa- Midrand we celebrated the day with kids from Soweto that come from different challenges and social backgrounds. For some it was their first time visiting a Zoo and seeing wild animals live. Apart from the games and activities which were planned throughout various station within the Zoo we had set-up, the kids absolutely enjoyed interacting with some animals through touching, feeding and reading fun facts about the animal. The day was both educational and fun for all who attended, they all left with beaming smiles and looking forward to the next World Egg Day and Family Fun Day. We are thankful to the team at Evonik Africa –Midrand for making this day possible and Lory Park Zoo for hosting us and having accessible space and facilities for those with disabilities.
International Day for Persons with Disability 2018 – Zambia
Utho Ngathi Family commemorated the International Day for Persons with Disabilities 2018 in Zambia, Southern Province. We joined and participated in a beautiful march organized by the local stakeholders, including our Zambia office team. The main objective for us is to always shine light and bring more awareness on the importance and the need of an inclusive society for persons with disabilities.
